Hello Parents of HIST 126-21, 126-22 and ART 303-02,
Due to the hectic nature of the end of Term 2, it was unfortunately difficult to post regularly on this website. Now that Term 3 has begun and our schedules have eased up, I will be regularly updating the web site. HIST 126-21 &126-22 The students have just finished their unit on Agriculture in Geography and are now working on their wrap-up project. All the information for the project can be found on Google Classroom. The project itself is due March 3rd, by the end of the school day. After Spring Break, they will be presenting their projects to the class so I encourage you to use some of the break to help them develop their presentation skills! ART 303-02 Students are currently working on their Movie Poster Design project. Students are expected to develop and original poster design for a movie of their choice. The project is open-media which means students can use whatever materials they wish to make the poster. This project is due March 2nd. They also have two sketches due in their sketchbook by April 4th. I hope that I will see some of you this evening, during Parent/Teacher interviews! Hello Parents/Students of HIST 126-21 & 126-22, as well as ART 303-02
As you can see, issues with the website have been resolved and everything is back up and running. I hope that everyone enjoyed their break and got the much needed rest. For Parents/Students of HIST, As it is the new year, I have spoken to the students about behavior and device privileges that will be changing as we progress. They are now halfway done their first year of Grade 7, and as such they will be exppected to act like high school students, not elementary school students. There will be more penalities and consequences for inappropriate behavior that is not befitting their new position. Students are now working in class on their second History Video Project. They will be creating a video on their chosen topic, and creating a physical object that represents the topic. This project is due Monday the 16th of January. As well, students have received the grades for their last test, the results of which were not spectacular. As a result, students have been given a supplementary assignment that will be used to boost their test scores, so that they can still succeed. This assignment is due by the end of the day on Friday, the 13th of January. That being said, I hope that as we progress through the last of Term 2, students will continue to work towards success! For Parents/Students of ART 303-02, the same applies in regards to behavior and effort output among the students. Assignments will be started today, with more details to come. Hello Parents of HIST 126-21 and HIST 126-22
Due to technical diffiuclties that had not been brought to my attention, some information was not posted onto the website. This is the information for the test, which is happening on Dec 19th, next monday. Your students have been aware since the beginning of the month, and have been making their cheat sheets since that time as well. A proud tradition at Mac is that of the Christmas Basket. Every year around this time, homerooms get together and assemble different items to help make baskets for families in need in the community. This year we are continuing the tradition. The Grade 7 homerooms are responsible for household items/toiletries. Each of your children has signed up for a specific item to be brought in. Please ask your children what their item is! The Christmas season is especially important to me, and I desperately want to impart that feeling of joy that comes with the season, as well as the amazing feeling that comes with helping those who need the most. To that end I am encouraging the utmost participation from all of my students! We are not expecting you to break the bank on these items, as I do understand the constraints that this season brings, and anything that can be provided is greatly appreciated. Many of these items can be found at Walmart, Dollarama, and Giant Tiger at an inexpensive price. Please give what you can and are comfortable with providing. These items will be used to make several Christmas baskets for families in need in our community. Thank you for your cooperation! Hello Parents and Students of HIST 136-21, 136-22 and ART 303-02
